Frequently Asked Questions
What do I need to do if I am moving in and/or out of the community?
Any residents moving in or out of their Unit that will be moving bulky goods and/or that will require a moving truck, pod, container, etc., are required to notify the Ka Makana Swim Club at least one (1) week in advance. Residents should schedule and confirm the move in/out day and time with the Ka Makana Swim Club for single-family homes.
Townhome Unit owners must contact the THKM (Hawaiiana/Community Manager) and the City & County of Honolulu in advance to obtain approval to park a “moving” truck in front of the townhome Unit on Keone’ula Blvd for all town home moves. When possible, “moving” trucks must utilize street parking when moving in/out of any residence that faces a street. If applicable, any permits required should be obtained in advance from the City & County of Honolulu. Service lanes may only be used with advance notice and shall only be permitted for homes that front a park or green space, or for special case-by-case circumstances. Homes adjacent to a City & County of Honolulu street must utilize street parking. Service lane use is only permitted with proper authorization and with a properly approved ‘moving pass’ prominently displayed on the designated vehicle. No containers or pods shall be placed in the service lane at any time. Small pods or containers up to 20 feet long may be placed in a guest parking stall with a proper parking pass issued by the Ka Makana Swim Club. Pods or Containers of any kind may not be placed on a street within KMCA at any time without a permit and are subject to fines.
For Authorized Service Lane Moving in/out Use (available for homes fronting green spaces only): Utilization of the service lane for move in or move out is strictly prohibited on Wednesdays and Saturdays (i.e., trash, recycle, and green waste pick up days). The truck driver must always be present to move the truck if or when needed. Blocking through traffic is prohibited. Moving trucks are only permitted in service lanes for one (1) day between the hours of 8 am & 5 pm. Moving trucks utilizing the service lanes must have an authorized KMCA Moving Pass, provided by the Ka Makana Swim Club, prominently displayed on the truck when parked in the service lane.
Residents who do not provide advance notice or are in violation of the move in/out requirements shall be subject to fine ($250/day) or immediate tow.
Owners are responsible for their Tenants’ non-compliance with the moving requirements.
